Your path to Germany

Four levels, one bridge.

German levels follow the Common European Framework (CEFR). Each one builds on the last, so you always know where you are and what comes next.

  1. A1

    Beginner

Introduce yourself and get by in simple, everyday situations.

  2. A2

    Elementary

Talk about your home, health and work, and handle routine tasks.

  3. B1

    Intermediate

Manage on your own at work, at school and with officials.

Often asked for by Ausbildung programmes and for visas

  4. B2

    Upper intermediate

Work and discuss confidently, and understand complex texts.

Usually needed for nursing recognition in Germany

Requirements differ between programmes and change over time. Always confirm the level you need with your employer, school or the embassy.

Questions

Good to know.

Can't find your answer? Message us on WhatsApp and the office will get back to you.

Do I need to know any German before I start?

No. German A1 starts from zero. If you've learned some German already, tell us what you know and we'll suggest the right level.

Which level do I need for Germany?

It depends on your plans. B1 is often asked for by Ausbildung (vocational training) programmes and for visas, and B2 is usually needed for nursing recognition. Requirements differ between programmes and change over time, so always confirm with your employer, school or the embassy.

Do you prepare students for the Goethe and ÖSD exams?

Yes. German B2 ends with Goethe / ÖSD B2 preparation, and our 3-week B2 Exam Preparation course is open to external candidates too.

How do I pay, and do I get a receipt?

By M-Pesa. When you apply online, the form shows the Paybill details: pay, then enter the M-Pesa code from your SMS. The office checks the payment and confirms your place within 24 hours. Every payment gets an official e‑receipt, which you can also find in the student portal.

Can I get a refund?

All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable once registration payment is done. Please make sure about your start date before you pay.

What is the student portal?

Every student gets an account on the Brücke portal, which works on any phone or computer. It has your lessons and vocabulary, assignments, quizzes, timetable, attendance, fee statement and receipts. You'll get an activation link when you register.
